Andrea Fields

Postdoc

Andrea is a postdoctoral research scientist working jointly between the DAN Lab and DCN Lab. She received her Ph.D. in 2023 from Columbia University and her B.A. in 2015 from Johns Hopkins University. Andrea’s research focuses on how children learn from and adapt to their caregivers and caregiving environments. More specifically, in her postdoc, Andrea aims to better understand the mechanisms underlying the early attachment relationship by investigating how parents modulate attention, memory, and learning processes to promote exploration and independence during toddlerhood. Outside of the lab, Andrea loves binging Bravo shows, doing pilates, trying new restaurants, and going on walks throughout Brooklyn with her dog, Bear.
